she who lives on the road to war...

Simas will research Haudenosaunee leader Jigonhsasee’s (also known as the Mother of Nations or She Who Lives on the Road to War) foundational influence on the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and subsequent impact on the U.S. Constitution and its cultural–political genealogy. In weaving real and imagined histories while focusing on Jigonhsasee’s role in envisioning new governing structures, people, and territories, Rosy hopes to both acknowledge history and create a means for peace.

This project is in the initial concept stage.

Initial research for this project is supported by the Weisman Art Museum Target Studio Incubator Artist in Residence program, Fall 2019

she who lives on the road to war will be in development September 2019-June 2021.
We are looking for residency, funding and presenting partners.
