Have Gun Will Shoot, a dance and media work exploring
patriotism, duty, power, betrayal and the fog of war.March 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 2007. The Ritz Theater: 345 13th Ave NE, Minneapolis
Read audience responses from the January 2006 show.
"Rosy Simas Guthrie wraps herself up in the stars and stripes--literally--in
a work that challenges the complicted issues surrounding patriotism,
power, and duty in an era marked by an unpopular war and a dishonest
government. Accompanied by a cast of seven dancers ... Simas Guthrie
combines elements of theater, improvisation, and modern dance to
explore both the personal and societal implications of being soldier,
citizen, and/or artist. It's a protest dance of sorts, but subtle
enough to transcend the limitations of current events and political
ideology." --Caroline
Palmer, City Pages
