Alignment Practice & Modern Technique
Classes in MONTRÉAL

Practice - Saturdays 10h-11h
Modern - Saturdays 11h-12h
no more thursdays this summer
Classes left for summer:
August 2, 9,16, 23/ 2, 9, 16 et 23 août

In the first hour of class, we will approach alignment from both anatomical and body-felt viewpoints. Working on the deep structural level, we move towards gaining support through muscular and skeletal connections for moving through space. Classes are designed to aid the individual in getting the most out of what they have, helping the student move with greater ease, efficiency and power. We align the bones by using the muscles most responsible for the transfer of forces through the body.

In the second hour, we will transfer these principles into movement to warm the body, improvise and learn choreography.

These classes are based on the Re-Education of the Body teachings of Barbara Mahler

Registration required.

Summer classes will be taught on a sliding scale fee. Students determine the fee based on a recommended chart. Range is 5$-10$ per hour of class.

Sliding scale is based on the honor system. There are no forms to fill out or proof of income needed. Students establish the rate at which they are going to pay prior to classes and let me know.

My policy for the sliding scale fee is borrowed from the The Kula Peace Project of which I am a member. "We understand the practice of questioning as a corner-stone for ending suffering and directly experiencing/recognizing one's true nature. We therefore attempt to translate this practice of questioning into all areas of our lives. The overall intention of using a sliding scale is to directly address the unjust class society in which we live in. Paying according to one's available resources creates a more equitable, diverse and sustainable community we all benefit from. An inevitable consequence to this process is an increase in one's awareness of their inherent significance to the community from which one is able to affect real change on a grass roots level."

For example if your annual household income (after taxes) totals $50,000 and there are 2 adults in the house, your income share = $25,000

Income Share:
Under 21, FT students, unemployed or
$0 - 20,000/$5 per hour of class
$21,000-30,000/$6 per hour of class
$31,000-40,000/$7 per hour of class
$41,000-50,000/$8 per hour of class
$51,000-60,000/$9 per hour of class
$61,000-and up/$10 per hour of class
